For the next decade, denim-clad hippies gave way to larger-than-life characters, like David Bowie, Alice Cooper, and the New York Dolls, who popularized a mix of avant-garde decadence, science fiction, and theatrical excess. Fast forward to today, and you'll notice that silhouettes were updated and the color palette was tweaked, but the spirit of 70s glam is still alive and well.
